Some times its nice to just sit and watch the world go by. I went to go bake cookies with Georgina (A friend of mine) one day this week. I got in her house and she was so embarrassed that her house was dirty that she wouldn't let me come in until it was cleaned. Not really knowing what to do for an hour, I went next door to see if another woman I'm friends with was home. When she wasn't I was at a loss of what to do. Walking around alone in the township isn't exactly the smartest thing in the world to do so I asked one of the ladies that was at the house if she wanted to sit outside with me on a bucket in front. We sat down and began small talk. It was a gorgeous day so we talked about the weather and I asked her about her family and her job. Then, when I was out of questions, we just sat there and enjoyed the warm sunny afternoon. It helped me remember that sometimes you need to just sit and listen for God's voice. It's hard to figure out what is going on around you when you are consumed in your own thoughts and your own itinerary. It was nice to sit and watch people go about their normal day and watch all the children walk home from school. How often do you get the chance to sit on a busy street in Africa on a bucket and enjoy life? One of the little boys, Koko, had come home from school to change his clothes before going off to play and before he left he came and sat on my lap for a while. It was so peaceful. I eventually was called back over to Georgina's house and we had a great time baking. Although, I was thankful for my refreshing time outside to sit back and enjoy life for a moment.
