Just a short note to share my excitement for all that is ahead of me as a FYM in J-Bay. God has been working in many ways to prepare me for this time of growth and service.  This summer I am going through the Purpose Driven Life and I look forward to my time in Africa to really help me know God's plan for my life.  I look forward to being challenged in many ways and having the blessing of serving others. I know that the other people that have been put together on this trip will help me to grow closer to God and to know and desire His will for my life.

I am really looking forward to working with the children. I have been involved in several short term mission experiences that gave me a taste of the joy of loving children that might not have experienced much love.  I have also been involved with special education students at my school through a peer tutoring program.  It will be amazing to have an the opportunity to build relationships with the children in Jeffrey's Bay.

Now that I am really starting to focus on preparing for the trip I am thankful that God has given me a real sense of peace about everything.  I know I could be worried about things but I trust that the Lord will take care of everything.  My support efforts are going well and I am thankful for every-one's generosity.

I may not be bringing as much experience in life or spiritual maturity but what I do bring is a willing heart to be molded and shaped.  As it says in Isaiah 64:8 "
O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the
potter; we are all the work of your hand
".  I know that if I give myself fully to God and let him mold me and shape me, something beautiful and useful will result.

In Him

Jenny
